Digital Signal Processing workshop
by Petr Baudis 03 May '12

03 May '12

Mili brmaci! * If you speak English, scroll below! --- If you speak just English, don't worry, contributions in English are equally welcome! Just let me know if you're interested in DSP and would like to contribute to the workshop and I will translate whatever relevant to English (esp. if Google Translate is doing a lousy job :). -- Petr "Pasky" Baudis Smart data structures and dumb code works a lot better than the other way around. -- Eric S. Raymond

Fwd: [hackerspaces] [survey] Participate on a 3D printing community survey
by Pavel Ruzicka 01 May '12

-------- Original Message -------- From: jarkko moilanen <jarkko.moilanen(a)uta.fi> To: discuss(a)lists.hackerspaces.org Organization: TaY Date: Tue, 01 May 2012 09:27:49 +0300 Message-ID: <1335853669.2723.49.camel(a)ubuntu.ubuntu-domain> [Warning! Not directly about hacking] Hi, We are inviting you to participate on a survey on individuals and communities doing 3D printing: http://surveys.peerproduction.net/ls/index.php?sid=51743. The survey contains 20 questions, and typically it takes less than 5 minutes to complete. The survey is intended to give insights about 3D printing communities to the people doing the printing, and we hope that this will help in motivating you to take the time to participate! The survey is a part of a newly founded initiative for open source research on peer production (supported by the Peer to Peer Foundation, more info at http://surveys.peerproduction.net/). All of the (anonymised, of course!) data will be openly available on the survey site. The questions have been prepared by Jarkko Moilanen and Tere Vadén and the results with their analysis will be published during 2012. For further information and questions (or if you want to help with the survey or with peer to peer research more generally), contact jarkko(a)peerproduction.net or tere.vaden(a)aalto.fi Cheers, Jarkko (IRC nick: kyyberi), Maintainer Statistical Studies of Peer Production http://surveys.peerproduction.net _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss(a)lists.hackerspaces.org http://lists.hackerspaces.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Brainstorm, prototype, test and evaluate ideas and scenarios of future services and interfaces related to brain data that will serve as critical probes and design fictions into networking over brain data and biodata related to our brain function (fMRI, SNPs, EEG). Prototype, evaluate and document a future service that will use brain data for social networking, neuromarketing, citizen science projects, etc. How to interact over brain (fMRI) data? How to connect them with other data (body, society, environment etc.)? What type of interfaces and tools we can build around these data? Who are the stakeholders, actors, users? What type of experiences, relations, exchanges, transactions to support? What type of social and individual identities we can create? What is the context of interaction over such future services? What are the ethical, legal and social challenges these interfaces create?
