Actually, is there any serious research behind this Joylent stuff? I mean other than one night of googling recommended daily intakes. Their website leaves strong 'hey, let's mix some dietary supplements and sell it as an food!' impression.
I'm not a nutrition expert, but it contains maltodextrin, which has pretty high glycemic index. Three large spikes of blood sugar level per day is something that most people want to avoid. Anyone who does an endurance sport (e.g. 50+ km trail running) will confirm that large blood sugar level variations are bad...
If you don't like to eat, you can even take one step further: parenteral nutrition!
