Is anybody interested in donating some extra cash to BRMlab to get this for May 2014? The deadline of the campaign is in 15-days. I can donate 1.000,- Kč If 19-more people do this, we can buy a do-it-yourself model. The 3D printer in the lab is a great proof-of-concept and a wonderful hack, but I'm not proposing a project or a hack. I'm proposing buying a reliable tool. The project boasts that it will be open hardware and software, so if this is true, we can make hacks for the platform as well.

Wow! So bad timing, hmm? I didn't make it tonight. Does that mean we can't approve such a purchase for three more months? I was trying to do things a little more organically, like solicit the email list and fund from there. Project proposed at project night could have their own funding, so it could mean 2x the funding.
Regardless, I'm still interested and committed to this idea if anyone else wants to contribute, or perhaps I got lucky, that the project was funded tonight? I'm crossing my fingers ;)

Hmm pity :( So the only other option this has is to either wait 3-months (campaign will be over and tool will probably be more) or see if other members want this via the list, or can I present this next Tuesday evening? The campaign will still be running till 7.10.2013

Next Tuesday is the general meeting (valna hromada), but I think there will likely be more than enough time e.g. during vote counting to present and discuss ideas like this!
So far, I'm not sure what the interest of others in this will be, but if there would be a large wave of popular support and agreement on the general meeting (probably not as a formal point), maybe we can discuss whether we could contribute some brmlab grant money to this even if it wasn't presented on the project night - but that's just my personal opinion, not a promise, and depends mainly on the general opinion. :)

So far, I'm not sure what the interest of others in this will be, but if there would be a large wave of popular support and agreement on the general meeting (probably not as a formal point), maybe we can discuss whether we could contribute some brmlab grant money to this even if it wasn't presented on the project night - but that's just my personal opinion, not a promise, and depends mainly on the general opinion. :)

Good News Everyone!
GENERAL BYTES s.r.o. decided to contribute remaining money for FABtotum.
So the FABtotum was ordered and paid yesterday by GENERAL BYTES s.r.o. for 21 463,67 CZK (3rd batch - July 2014).
I have created following page http://brmlab.cz/project/fabtotum where we can see where to send money and continue on collecting contributions till July :)

For sure, you are welcome to present it on meetup as anyone is invited to bring up points like this.
Next Tuesday is the general meeting (valna hromada), but I think there will likely be more than enough time e.g. during vote counting to present and discuss ideas like this!
