*Abstract: *Big Data, cloud, and IoT: that’s what most IT discussions today are about. Though it might seem that these are miles away from the field of computer graphics, in fact, the contrary is true. The phenomenon of big data has accelerated the search for a solution of new challenges in the field of 3D visualization, real-time interactive applications, and especially hyper-resolution. We discuss the technical issues encountered with the use of hyper-resolution in various industries and focus mainly on 3D real-time visualization for interactive immersive spaces. Using practical examples, we will then discuss technical challenges and barriers associated with hyper-resolution today (4K, 8K, ...), both for software and hardware. Practical examples will be based on special displays, domes and CAVE systems in a variety of corporate or publicly accessible areas both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Ing. Jan Buriánek(*1974) is as an ICT consultant and project specialist with the focus on image processing. Jan Burianek is the author of many scientific publications dealing with the advanced image processing and he wrote more than 200 articles for specialized magazines (Pixel, Chip, Computer World, etc.). He is the member of IEEE and ACM. Among other teaching activities, he is a lecturer at the Czech Technical University in Prague at the Department of Computer Graphics and Interaction (DCGI) and he has been invited to many international conferences. His professional interests are focused on advanced image and video processing, stereoscopy, computer graphics and computer vision.
