Sargon, ked pojdes najblizsie do brmlabu mozes ju prosimta zobrat, ak btr suhlasi? Alebo uz je v tak strasnom stave, ze sa ani neoplati ju zachranovat?
Hi. I don't see it anymore. Did someone borrow it again? I tried to use it about three weeks ago, but it smelled like burnt something. I opened it, and took some photos of the inside with the USB microscrope. There seemed to be a diode fried :( I wanted to fix it, but maybe somebody is beating me to the job?

Hi
I think we miss it again for about few weeks.. Regarding to the burnt capacitor, I replaced it before it dissapeared.. It was operational since then.

Oh shit. Well, I hope it pops up soon :(
Capacitor? Hmm the photos I took seemed to be of a blown semiconductor from ST and a fuse from Littlefuse. If you take a look at the snapshots, you'll see what I'm writing about. I already wrote a sales department at ST about the semiconductor since searching offsite and on their site revealed zero results. I'm reading ST DX Z037.

Yeah, you are right - capacitor is soldered next to it. (its leads are routed below the board).

I got a reply from ST about the ruptured semiconductor. It was a TVS diode, but I don't know these kinds. Maybe it's something used in power generation. Regardless of the labeling being ST DX Z037, the salesperson says it's a SM6T15A Transil. I'm still not totally comfortable with his answer. His quote as to why the labeling mismatch:
As is typical with packages that are very small it is not possible to print entire part numbers on the part so abbreviated part numbers are used.
I haven't been to the lab, but hopefully the soldering pen has been returned, so I can fix it. I'll try to source for the part locally unless someone wants to contribute that they've found it here or elsewhere already.
