Dear fellow hackers and activists,
The future of Net Neutrality will be decided by the European Parliament in the coming week. The Industry (ITRE) committee will vote its report on 18 March on Neelie Kroes' proposal and has in this capacity the opportunity to put in place effective defences for the principle of Net Neutrality. The outcome remains uncertain and depends on the vote of a small number of representatives who might still be swayed. You can find more information in the last LQDN communiqué on net neutrality: https://www.laquadrature.net/en/eu-parliament-negotiations-on-net-neutrality...
Next week La Quadrature du Net and fellow organisations propose workshops to inform the public on the question of net neutrality and to assist people in contacting their European representative (as it might be a bit intimidating to do so alone).
Please pass on this message. Perhaps you might even organise an event in your area to call as many MEPs as possible before Pi-day (March 14)?
The PiPhone is accesible here: https://piphone.lqdn.fr And savetheinternet.eu here: http://savetheinternet.eu
A new press release by LQDN will soon be pubished with details of recent developments and for a call to arms.
Pass on the message and, together, let us save Net Neutrality!
