Hello,
My name is Thomas Petazzoni, I am the co-maintainer of an open-source project called Buildroot (http://buildroot.org), which is very popular in the embedded Linux space.
Since the Embedded Linux Conference Europe will be held in Prague at the end of October, we are organizing prior to this conference a 2-day hackaton around Buildroot, and we are looking for a place to host this hackaton. We typically have 8-10 participants, and we simply need a room, with a table, chairs, and good Internet connectivity.
Do you think the brmlab could potentially host such an event?
Last year, we had the same meeting in Berlin, hosted by the IN-Berlin hackerspace (https://wiki.hackerspaces.org/IN-Berlin), and it was really nice.
Thanks a lot!
Thomas Petazzoni
Hi,
we would gladly host you under normal circumstances, however it seems that building where we have a hackerspace is going to be reconstructed in a few months, an we still does not have a new location for our hackerspace. Therefore we are not able to promise anything. I can keep you updated if you like.
cheers, n.

Yes, please keep me updated. Otherwise, do you have other ideas of places that could host such a meeting, at no charge or for a reasonable cost ?
Thanks a lot!

Hello Thomas,
of course do I know buildroot. If brmlab is too busy with moving its location and you don't mind a 1.5h bus ride, we could host it in Dresden. ;-) But really only if brmlab is too busy, I don't want to start a competition between C3D2 and brmlab.
Regards,
norbert

Hehe, nice to hear that Buildroot is well-known :)

As said, the big event is the Embedded Linux Conference Europe, in Prague, so we chose to have our meeting right before this event, in the same city, in order to facilitate the participation of the developers. So going to Dresden is not very convenient from that perspective, I'm afraid :/
Thanks!
