Dear BRMLAB-Staff,
My name is Alejandro Corbi, a spanish freelance software developer based in Berlin, Germany since 2009. Together with my girlfriend i am preparing the realisation of a non-profit project which you can find a more detailed description about attached to this email and under the following URL:http://www.alexcorbi.com/pdf/project/project_dossier_workshop.pdf
Basically, our project consists on contacting and meeting people/organisations that are actively working in the areas of Knowledge Sharing and Open Data around the world. We want to document these encounters and create an online plattform to showcase projects that share the philosophy and goals behind these topics.
That's why we are contacting Hackerspaces along the countries we are planing to visit in order to establish contact and study a possible collaboration. We see Hackerspaces as the kind of places where the Knowledge Sharing philosophy is represented at its best, and think it would be perfect if we just could come visit you, meet you and document what is going on in your space.
Also, in order to contribute ourselves we are offering to run a workshop, in which we are teaching how to visualize Open Data using open source tools. In case you feel like hosting it, we would feel really grateful to do it, otherwise just meeting you would also be for sure a nice experience.
I hope you like our idea and look forward to receiving your feedback, if you have any questions regarding our project, please do not hesitate to ask.
Best regards,
Alex Corbi.
Dear Fellows from the BRMLab in Prague,
Some weeks ago i introduced you to the project me and my girlfriend are about to start: http://www.open-steps.org
We have defined our dates a bit more concretely and are expecting to arrive in Prag at the beginning of July, we have checked on your event calendar and thought about attending to the TalkNight on the 4th of July.
We would like to kindly propose you to present our project and maybe do a reduced Version (no more than 40min) of our Workshop "Visualizing open data to bring out global issues" http://www.open-steps.org/our-project/ , we have already submitted the application using the form but we just realized it was for the June event, please apologize us and consider our application for the July event.
We would be thankful if you somehow confirm us our participation in July.
Thanks in advance,
Alex Corbi

I'm looking forward to your presentation. However, maybe others will disagree but my opinion is that 40min entry is too long for the TalkNight, generally it's advisable to keep your talks at the TalkNight 20min or less (it'll always take slightly longer than planned anyway). Also, the TalkNight is more geared at presentations rather than workshops.
One possibility is to give a short presentation/teaser at the TalkNight and do the workshop another night, or just do either one of these.
Safe journey to Prague,
Hi Petr,
In that case i would say that we just present our project without doing a workshop. That will be fine!
Also, as you can read on the details of our site, one of the main parts of our project consist on documenting the different hackerspaces we visit along our trip, that is why we would like to ask you if it would be ok for you if we realize a small and informal interview with some of the members of the space and film it in order to publish it on our website.
The idea would be that we ask you a couple of questions about how the place is organized, what kind of projects are you guys running there and how you are contributing to share knowledge with others. What do you think about it? Would somebody of you like to do this? Should we maybe show up a bit earlier so we can do it before the talkNight begins? It doesn't need to be really fancy, just informative...
Looking forward to receiving your answer on this regard,
Greetings from Berlin,
Alex.
